WHITE TRASH ELK - The Redwood Forest, California
In 2008 while exploring The American West I discovered an abandoned home in The Redwood Forest, it's contents scattered around the yard.
As I clicked away, I realized directly behind me was a large, male elk, head down, having his morning meal.
Twenty-five minutes later, positioned as if a taxidermist had placed him there, he helped create one of the oddest scenes I've ever photographed.
