| Since 1978 when I opened my first studio, I've never lost my fascination with graphic shapes, strong color and dramatic light. When I'm not working in the studio, nothing makes me happier than to be on the road shooting whatever I happen to come across. I always have a predetermined route but remain flexible enough should a unique opportunity arise. It's not unusual for me to log six thousand miles in six weeks of driving, wandering around hidden America. Whether I'm in the studio or on location, I'm always preoccupied with translating what I see into an interesting visual image. The photographs I've selected for this website are the result of endless searching for those moments in time when color, composition and light all magically come together. Sometimes I'll spend days searching in vain for the image that just isn't there, while other times I can't believe the bizarre scenes I'm lucky enough to come across. In 2004, after twenty-six years of working out of my Montclair New Jersey studio, I moved my home base to Hawaii, on the island of Kauai. Although I still maintain a studio in New Jersey, I find I'm spending more time shooting on location. I sincerely hope you bookmark my website and return often to see what I'm up to in the studio and on location. Thank you for taking the time to enjoy my images. .jpg) |
